Marks through its shimmering green translucency
The life beyond in which all live things share.
Let none complain that Nature, prodigal
Of life and beauty, squanders here her hoard,
To harvest nothing but her own decay.
New seasons shed new splendours that recall
The faded years, whose riches could afford
Such varied wealth to dower a winter's day.
