My childhood has had an important impact on my work and I only recently became aware that it still influences me. My curiosity and interest for museums, paintings, architecture, music, garments was highly stimulated during this period of my life. I have always wanted to bring together different styles that, once they are gathered, can tell a story. I aim to create something with a soul within an unconventional shape.
I always knew that I wanted to study in an art school, since studying law or business was never an option. When I found out that my skills would serve fashion better than any other field, I applied to few fashion schools. Succeeding the Royal Academy of Antwerp's entrance exam was a decisive moment. I read articles about the school and I heard about its fame. But it is mainly its situation abroad and the diversity of the student body that determined my choice. I felt that it was the best place to improve myself as a fashion designer. The aesthetic of Dries Van Noten intrigues and fascinates me. I am eager to work in this house. | |
