On book collecting II
Een andere alinea uit het Amerikaanse pamflet (zie blz. 11) luidt:
Collecting old books is often thought of as horse-racing used to be-a sport of kings. Actually it can be far less expensive than many other hobbies and most other forms of entertainment. One collection that is outstanding in its field was formed entirely with money saved by a collector who had to cut out liquor and cigarettes. You may not know it, but there are literally thousands of interesting old books that can be bought for a dollar or two. Many of them relate to the subject of your choice. You can trim your subject to fit your purse. You can buy as fast or as slowly as your desire, purse and vigilance permit. Most collectors spread the cost and pleasure of forming their collections over a period of years or decades.
