Commissie van Arbitrage aan De Haan, gedrukte bron383., 16 december 1904In antwoord op uw schrijven van heden deel ik u mee, dat: 7 Nov. l.l. de commissie vergaderde, moest konstateeren, dat de redactie van het Volk nog niet had geantwoord en besloot de redactie te melden, dat zoo binnen een week geen antwoord kwam, de kommissie haar mandaat ter beschikking van 't P.B. zou stellen. 15 Nov. l.l. weer vergaderde en wijl nog geen antwoord van de redactie was ontvangen besloot het P.B. te melden, dat de commissie in de onmogelijkheid verkeerde haar taak te volbrengen en dus aftrad. 28 Nov. l.l. de leden weer bijeenkwamen omdat een brief was ingekomen van Tak, (niet de lang verwachte met inlichtingen maar 'n schrijven over 't niet-antwoorden) en dat na langdurige diskussies de leden besloten op hun vroeger besluit van aftreding in zooverre terug te komen, dat ze aan 't P.B. zouden melden: ‘onder enkele aan te wijzen voorwaarden zullen we weer aan 't werk gaan’. Eerst wanneer het P.B. aan die voorwaarden voldoet dan zal de commissie haar taak weer opvatten. Dit schrijven is aan 't P.B. verzonden, maar tot nog toe is geen antwoord ontvangen, zoodat op 't oogenblik de werkzaamheden der commissie geschorst zijn, totdat antwoord is ontvangen van 't P.B. waarvan het zal afhangen of deze commissie weer in functie zal treden.
Uit 1904 stamt nog een brief van De Haan aan Saalborn, wiens grootmoeder 80 was geworden384.. |
