(Argwaan dat de brieven der gravin aan hem in Engeland geopend worden.)
The curiosity must go very far to open my letters. For I should think myself the last person in the world to give any suspicion to the government in England. And if I am suspected, they may as well suspect themselves. For I am sure they are not more in their own interest and may be they are not so much as I am ... Things begin to go a little better. But I am not satisfy'd nor easy about it.
