XLII.
Willem Bentinck aan de gravin van Portland.
Den Haag, 2 Maart 1742.
Our long projected augmentation pass'd yesterday in the States of Holland. If I could tell you all I have seen, and seen as clear as the sun, these last three months; it would raise horror and indignation in your mind, to see how the most serious affairs are carry'd on, upon which depend all that ought to be dear and precious. In any other country People have no notion of the possibility of what exists in reality.
