My dear Friends,
I got your long and nice letter in due process of time and rejoiced at its contents. Never mind the expense if bestowed for health and if it proves to give satisfactory results. The heat has past here all you can imagine of horror. We slept with all the windows broad opened, expecting some coolness but in vain. To-day rain and all of a sudden it is growing so dark, that I hardly can go on writing. On friday last I got a letter from the merchant carpenter, who made my invalid-chair, that he no longer took care of amending it and that I had to apply to another workingman for the changes I thought to be necessary. Kind regards.
