There were two Cahiers de Francfort each year: one for the Lent Fair and one for the September Fair. For 1579 only the cahier for the Lent Fair has survived. The amounts quoted are in German guilders, which were somewhat ‘heavier’ than the Carolus guilders (26 st. in Carolus guilders = 20 st. German guilders).

These monies were noted as ‘passementz’ (‘trimmings’).
