Dear Mr. Oltmans:
Many thanks for your letter of May 25 - I appreciated very much the summary of developments it contained. I am sorry Mr. Luns still thinks I'm a rascal but never mind. Please give my warm regards to Ambassador van Roijen if you should see him as I've always had a great deal of admiration and regard for him. Also to van Konijnenburg - I'm glad to hear he will be lecturing in Makassar. They have needed help at the university there for some time.
As for my book, it will be coming out sometime next fall, and meanwhile, I shall certainly let you know if I am to be in Holland.
With warm personal regards,
Sincerely yours,
P.S. I was Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Far Eastern Affairs under John Foster Dulles and this is the first time I have heard of the alleged agreements concluded by Luns with Secretary Dulles.
