Any male speaker thereafter was to have his fly checked before appearing on stage, because Willem had addressed the ladies with his open.
Bill was initially skeptical of the personable, opinionated newcomer. The two remarkably intelligent individuals are immediately pitted in verbal fencing that has not ceased through the years. But, a mutual respect developed, (Very true).
Willem's frequent correspondence and sporadic visits have kept Bill and Marjorie abreast of his travels, activities, trials, tribulations, and his associations with world figures who have made 20th century history.
During Willem's visits, Marjorie received candid criticism, plus invaluable encouragement for her painting, photography, and writing endeavors. First-hand observation of Willem's diary writing discipline was of immeasurable value. With love and affection.
