(L.B.)I can not but looke upon the absence of your frend as a great misfortune, and especially in regard of his being at Amsterdam. I can thinke of no expedient but this, that you will be pleased to send my lettre by a messenger expressely to him; his lodging is at Haute-veenes Inne, a place wel knowne, and, if you find it fitt, to advise him to returne hither, in case he did not speake with his Highnes before his departure. The charges shal be borne by me, and most thankefully repaid, but I must entreate you to dispatch the man, that I may not appeare. I do most humbly desire, the bode may depart this night and be required to bring backe an answer to yourselfe.
