Neerlandia.
There is music in thy name,
Not in all the world around
Can another name be found
Till the race its course has run,
And man's glorious task is done,
Those to whom thou'st given birth,
Men of highest, noblest worth,
Shall be known throughout the earth,
Men of science, art and skill,
Men of courage, heart and will,
Men of war on land and sea,
Dating all to make thee free,
Thou hast nursed, Neerlandia!
Ceaseless will we tribute bring,
To thy worth and fame, and sing
All that's noble, true and fine
Which the world yet owns as thine;
And thy name we'll e'er enshrine
In our hearts, Neerlandia!
To the Power that guided thee,
Saved from foreign tyranny,
Dowered thee with vast domain
In the isles of India's Main,
Send thy grateful, glad refrain
J.A. METS,
82-jarige oud-Hollander.
