present owner of the following book, ‘Calengier. Die maniere om te leeren Cijfferen, ende rekenen metter pennen, nae die gherechte conste Algorismi. Antwerpen, Jan Seners (? Seuers) Zoon, 1527’. It has been twice offered for sale in this country by Mr. Tregaskis, first in March, 1918, and then in his catalogue No. 846 (October-November, 1921), No. 2. It is a unique calendar, writing tablet, and arithmetic, in contemporary binding with a flap and a brass stylus shaped like a crook, which also acts as a fastener. Inquiries made of the bookseller have been unavailing; and if this letter should meet the eye of the present owner, or of anybody who knows the present whereabouts of the book, they would be rendering a real service to students of Low Countries post-incunabula if they would communicate with me or direct with Miss M.E. Kronenberg, 110 Laan van Meerdervoort. The Hague. Holland.
Yours obediently,
STEPHEN GASELEE.
