Two members of the local United Klans chapter, Klavern 900, were convicted in the case. The slain youth's mother, Beulah Mae Donald and the NAACP started a 10 million dollars civil rights suit against the Klan. The suit contends that Michael Ronald's constitutional rights were violated by Klan intimidation tactics.
