unles you please to give me some answere in writing to the paper I gave you yesterday, wich I do beseech you very earnestly to do, or at least to give me a promise, that at your convenience I shall receive it. And however, if you remember, the answer to the 6th article was absolutely mistaken, upon an opinion that it had reference to the states shippsGa naar voetnoot1), wich were not thought upon, as since you understand, and the matter it imports is not difficult, but may wel give roome for a good answer, I am very unwilling to returne that paper you gave me, just as it is, and the ground of that unwillingnes is an ambition, wherein yourselfe and I am aemulous, wich is, to serve both their Majesties and His highnes in this treaty in such a manner, that both may receive perfect satisfaction by it, as I will hope that in conclusion they shall do.
