......Concerning the young griffier and the state of his family I suppose you have heard that his uncle made him the heir of all he had excepting his obligations upon the state which were equally divided among his nearest relations, so that he is in possession of his fine house with all the furniture, library etc.¹⁾......

His father the Counsellor²⁾ died about half a year ago so that the present griffier who is about 40 years of age is now the head of that family which has made so considerable a figure in the Republick for near an hundred years......
