Sorgvliet, 5 Juli 1743.

To-day every thing has been finally regulated with relation to the march of our Troopes. So that they are to march as soon as the undertakers can furnish bread, forage etc., which will be all ready on the Frontiers in a fortnights time, so that in eight or ten days I reckon the first divisions will begin to march. This affair has met with great opposition in the execution from Rosendaal and his party. I give you no particulars of the action pass'd at Dettingen²⁾.

2) De slag bij Dettingen, waarbij George II zelf tegenwoordig was geweest, was geleverd vóór de bewuste 20.000 man Nederlandsche troepen zich bij het verbonden leger hadden kunnen voegen.
