Late Mr. Slingeland spoke to the purpose, in very few words, knew how far he could go, and when he was sure he was in the right, was not afraid of objections or difficultys, which are constantly in politick affairs, which stop others short, tho' may be there are stronger on the other side, and then the time is lost in considering that ought to have been employed in acting. I have seen so many instances of this of late, that I am very glad we have at last a Pensionary. Tho' he be a man of a very good understanding, and great integrity, he will fall much short of the late. |
