St-Willibrordstr.Zeer waarde heer Robbers, dank U, laat nog, voor uwen genegen brief van toen555.. Veel dank. Die ik U slecht loon door U in uw drukke leven dit krankzinnige artikel te zenden. Voor U het eerst, en in het tweede geval voor Uw tijdschrift. Maar zóó ver ben ik wel: daar is het niets voor. Erger U niet aan sommige zonderlinge woorden. Ik weet ze zelf heel goed. Maar evenmin als dit dwaze stijlschrift556. mijn gewone schrift is, evenmin was ik toen ik dit stuk schreef goed wijs. Alles is eerlijk woord voor woord. Dat kan ik U niet bewijzen, maar dat moet U glooven. Alles gaat stil verder in het leven van mij. Van Deyssel zal fragmenten* opnemen uit het tweede deel van ‘Pijpelijntjes’. Als hij 't doet. Hij zegt 't. Na ja. Wat U? Er zal altijd wel op me gescholden worden. Enfin. Ik hoop, dat mijn stuk U niet lastig was. Het leest mooi makkelijk, doet het niet? Ik lees graag van U. Komt uw roman van de Gelukkige Familie gauw uit? Geheel de uwe Jacob Israël de Haan Weet U, dat Carry van Bruggen te Medan mijne zuster is?557. Van Bruggen is haar man, die was vroeger redacteur van ‘Het Volk’. Ze is in haar pink fatsoendelijker dan ik [in] mijn geheele lijf. Plezierige Sinterklaas.
* Alleen fatsoendelijke. Dus Ge behoeft Uw abonnement op 't Tijdschrift niet op te zeggen. Zeg het niet voort, want V.D. neemt mij er toch tusschen. Hoe blijf ik er toch bij hem te glooven. Ik ben toen heelemaal niet naar Zwol gegaan. Afgelast. |
